Supplies for students, with a smile
Thames Valley Education Foundation aims to help 4,500 students start the school year off right.
As I recall, the start of the school year was always an exciting time. I wasn’t the top student in my class, and being incredibly disorganized probably didn’t help that. But a brand new school year was always my shot at starting right. Every September, I’d promise myself to stay organized. Write stuff down. Not eat my erasers. I did better some years than others.
Unfortunately, a lot of kids in our area find themselves without the chance that I often took for granted – and that’s why Supplies for Students, run by volunteers of the Thames Valley Education Foundation, The United Way and The Salvation Army, exists.
This annual drive aims to provide students in need with a backpack, and the supplies they need to make the most of their upcoming school year. It’s something that can make a real difference in a child’s life, and that’s why we’re so proud to be a part of it.
You can be a part of this, too. Interested? Visit Supplies for Students or reach out to them on Twitter (@suppsforstdnts) or Facebook.
