As I recall, the start of the school year was always an exciting time. I wasn't the top student in my class, and being incredibly disorganized probably didn't help that. But a brand new school year was always my shot at starting right. Every September, I'd promise myself to stay organized. Write stuff down. Not eat my erasers. I did better some years than others.
Unfortunately, a lot of kids in our area find themselves without the chance that I often took for granted - and that's why Supplies for Students, run by volunteers of the Thames Valley Education Foundation, The United Way and The Salvation Army, exists.
